music therapy

What can music therapy offer?

Music therapy is a creative, interactive, psychological therapy based on the shared use of music & sound to develop a therapeutic relationship & address therapeutic aims.

Our approach at the music therapy hub is founded on creative relational experiences and we will work with you to find out if and how music therapy might be of benefit.

What happens in a music therapy session?

A session can look, feel and sound different depending on each individual person. For example, we might engage in active music making together using different instruments and technologies, we may listen to/receive music together and/or we may talk together. Some sessions involve all of the above!

Is music therapy right for me or someone I know?

Music therapy can help provide emotional support, explore creative expression, support mental wellbeing, facilitate somatic awareness, and empower co-ordination, rehabilitation & motor control. Get in touch to find out more about music therapy and make an initial appointment.

Music therapists are registered with the Health and Care Professions Council and you can find out more about music therapy at the British Association for Music Therapy
